BS Content Studio

Project duration: 2013 - 2014

New authoring tool for easy and fast creation of 3D scenes and apps. Author once - deploy anywhere - Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, IE, FF, Chrome, Safari, HTML5 / WebGL.

Funded: Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie aufgrund eines Beschlusses des Deutschen Bundetages

Integrated Virtual Networks

Project start August 5, 2013

Silhouette enables inexpensive desktop virtual conferencing via the web at real-time frame rates with synchronized audio. Silhouette captures your actual live video image from your arbitrary background environment, streams the captured video over the web, and transplants the captured video into a computer generated 3D (virtual) environment at real time frame rates as your 'live avatar'.

Development Project: “3D Web Compiler“

Project start: December 2012 based on 11 years building blocks and experience

Building Blocks of "3D Web Compiler"
In the project Bitmanagement develops an authoring tool (3D Web Compiler) for interactive and multimedia content in the Internet. The authoring tool will substantially speed up and simplify the creation of 3D models and interactive content for functional scenes and applications so that "non-3D-realtime-specialists" can generate 3D realtime apps for the Internet. Focus is an enrichment of 3D geometries and media created with leading CAD, GIS- and design software by interactivity and supplements like lights/shadow, multi user capabilities, physics, etc. . The results in x3D format (or as mutually agreed in OEM versions) will be optimized at a push on a button in respect of rendering speed, download/streaming capability and integration into websites for export and usage on crossplatform (Windows/Linux/Mac/iOS/Android), crossbrowser (IE/Firefox/Chrome/Opera/Safari) and WebGL.

Green Building blocks as developed in the last 11 years get integrated in 3D Web Compiler. Animation-designer, script-designer and user interface-designer get added as well as cross compiler.

For an infrastructure project as shown on the left side a complex 3D scene of 6.4 km visualization of existing area and of planning alternative has been composed easily using multiple separated 3D objects.

Development Project: 3D PIE

Project start: May 2011

Under the name “3D Portrayal Interoperability Experiment (IE)” three German science Institutes, the Hasso Plattner Institut of Potsdam University, the GISscience Institute of University of Heidelberg and the Fraunhofer Instituit for Computer Graphics Research (IGD), have set up a project which is targeted on establishing an uniform infrastructure for portrayal of Geo data by means of testing the interoperability of standardized viewer technologies. Bitmanagement contributes its 3D visualization technology to the entire testing procedure.

The project is arranged by Open Geospatial Consortium

Research Project: FINE

Project start April 1, 2010 – 36 month

FINE is co-funded by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme; Objective: Networked Media and 3D Internet.

The Free-viewpoint Immersive Networked Experience project is focused on developing a novel end-to-end architecture for the creation and delivery of a new form of live media content. FINE will deliver live content to professional and home users which will be able to interact and freely explore a live-action 3D scene. Bitmanagement takes the 3D part which is focused on the creation of truly three dimensional content which could be shown on regular 2D devices, stereoscopic displays and projectors and even on auto-stereoscopic displays or future holographic monitors.

Research Project: Inter AR

Project start: December 1, 2009 – 24 month

Bitmanagement together with Fraunhofer Institute für Grafische Datenverarbeitung (IGD) jointly engages in the German BMWI funded project “InterAR – Augmented Reality in the Internet on mobile devices”. The aim is to develop a mobile platform as a basis for creating application scenarios and products mainly for knowledge transfer. Bitmanagement contributes to the project a scalable and mobile 3D-viewer for commercial and in mass markets available devices (e.g. iPhone-3G, HTC Smartphone, and others).

Funded: Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie aufgrund eines Beschlusses des Deutschen Bundetages

Development Project : iDYNamicTV

Project start: 2008

Bitmanagement is part of a larger Project of Telecom Italia. It is focused on Inter-tainment on the Web, which is a new paradign. The aim is to create a continuum between the two media Web and TV, for enabling interaction and to enrich this way the user experience of TV-watching via the set top box developed by Bitmanagement.

Development Project: SpaceTime

Project start: 2006

Bitmanagement is software partner of the Space Time project. Space Time is a novel search engines Grafical User Interface (GUI) for PC users worldwide. The application is linking to the most popular search engines in the world wide web like Google, Yahoo or to the Video/picture-search e.g. from YouTube, to all Sites in the Web and to countless pictures. Each searching result appears in an own window in the 3D Space for the simple and time saving access. All pictures are also displayed in 3D. Bitmanagement integrated its 3D viewing software and did application specific developments.

Development Project: Earth Viewer

Project start: 2006

For Bertelsmann one of the world’s leading publishing houses, Bitmanagement has developed an earth viewing application for a comprehensive 3D world atlas for consumer use. From 160 gigabytes of satellite data and maps with different resolutions Bitmanagement has created a fully integrated DVD consumer product with a 3D graphical user interface (GUI). The main item is the optimization tool BS Tiler for fast rendering of height models, vectors and satellite image textures which automatically generates tile structures from terrain models, grid data and vectors for unlimited and smooth flying over landscapes.

Research Project: ICE-CREAM

Project start: 2002 – 36 month

Bitmanagement was one of 10 partners of the three-year project “ICE CREAM - Interactive Consumption of Entertainment in Consumer Responsive, Engaging & Active Media” which was led by Philips and funded by the European Commission with the goal to investigate how to make compelling experiences for end-users based on the possibilities of integrating technologies for interactive media, such as, DVB-MHP, MPEG-4, and Internet technologies on settop boxes for iTV. Bitmanagement has adapted its interactive, realtime 3D Viewer ‘BS Contact’ needed for live event project applications. Bitmanagement continued the project instead of blaxxun interactive.
