The 2D / 3D portal for touristic purposes first of all is a traditional web based GIS application. The maps with different content can be shown as single map or in a superimposed version. Beside the zooming feature the application offers all functionalities of a web based geoinformation system.
Moreover the application has searching function for different fields of touristic interests such as restaurants or historical places. To initialize the 3D application one has to operate a dedicated button. The user can freely move in the 3D scenery in the same "Look and Feel " as the 3D application and call up the same information as in the 2D version. Furthermore an integration of city models in LOD1 and LOD 4 is possible
